Honigbiene

Man schätzt, dass es in Deutschland rund 500 Arten von Bienen

gibt. Weltweit sollen es mehr als 20.000 Arten sein. Unsere heimi-

schen Honigbienen ernähren sich rein vegetarisch. Ihre wichtigste

Nahrungsquelle sind süße Pflanzensäfte, insbesondere der Nektar

von Blüten. Für die Eiweißversorgung sind sie auf deren Pollen an-

gewiesen. Nach Aufnahme der Nektar Säfte oder anderer süßen

Säfte lebender Pflanzen reichern die Bienen den Nektar mit kör-

pereigenen Stoffen an, speichern den Saft in Waben und lassen

ihn dort zu Honig reifen.

It is estimated that in Germany there are approximately 500 spe-

cies of bees. Worldwide, there should be more than 20,000 spe-

cies. Our native bees are pure vegetarians. Their main source of

food - sweet plant juices, in particular the nectar of flowers. For

a supply of protein, they depend on their pollen. After ingesting

the nectar juices or other sweet juices of living plants, the bees

add their own endogenous substances, then the juice is stored in

honeycombs and left to ripen to honey.
