Minakshi-Tempel - Tiruvilayadal Puranam
Der Minakshi-Tempel liegt im Zentrum von Madurai, im südindi-
schen Bundesstaat Tamil Nadu, am südlichen Ufer des Vaigai-
Flusses. Im Inneren des Tempelkomplexes befinden sich zahlreiche
Korridore, mehrere große Säulenhallen und ein Tempelteich. Der
Tempelteich dient Gläubigen als Ort für rituelle Waschungen. Den
Teich des goldenen Lotus umgibt ein Säulengang, dessen Wände
mit Wandmalereien aus dem 17. Jahrhundert geschmückt sind.

The Minakshi Temple is in the center of Madurai,Tamil
Nadu,Southern India, it lies on the southern banks of the Vaigai
River. Inside the temple complex there are many corridors, seve-
ral large porches and a temple pond. The temple pond serves
believers as a place for ritual ablutions. The golden lotus pond is
surrounded by a colonnade, the walls are decorated with murals
from the 17th Century. These depict scenes from the Tiruvilayadal
Puranam, the local legend of the Minakshi Temple, dar.
