Venedig

Venedig umfasst eine rund 550 km² große Lagune mit ihrem

Umland und entstand etwa 4000 vor Christus. Die Altstadt ist eine

Stadt im Wasser. Sie setzt sich aus über 100 Inseln zusammen, zwi-

schen denen sich unterschiedlich breite Kanäle hindurchziehen.

Zu jeder Insel gehört mindestens ein Platz, der das Kommunika-

tions-, Verkehrs- und Handelszentrum bildet.

Venezia

Venice comprises of a 550 square kilometer lagoon with its sur-

roundings and was founded about 4000 BC. The old town is a

town in water. It has over 100 islands, between which there are

wide channels. Each island has at least one place, which forms

the centre of communications, transport and commerce.
