Cowes Wochen

Die Cowes Week spielt seit 1826 eine wichtige Rolle im britischen

Sportkalender und ist eine der traditionsreichsten und erfolgreichs-

ten Sportveranstaltungen. Die Segelregatta wird jedes Jahr im

August auf dem Solent und rund um die Isle of Wight im Süden

Englands ausgetragen. Mit 40 Rennen täglich und mehr als 1.000

teilnehmenden Booten mit rund 8.500 Aktiven ist es weltweit die

größte Segelregatta dieser Art.

Cowes Week

Since 1826 Cowes Week plays an important role in the British

sporting calendar and is one of the oldest and most successful

sporting events. The sailing regatta is held every August in the So-

lent around the Isle of Wight in southern England. With 40 races a

day and more than 1000 participating boats with about 8,500 ac-

tive participants, it is the world‘s largest sailing regatta of its kind.
