| On the hiking trail between Darmstädter Hütte and Seibelseckle is a memorial stone with superb views of the Rhine plain and Vosges Mountains. It is a reminder of Hurricane Lothar which swept through the area on Boxing Day 1999 bearing winds of more than 200 km/h and leaving behind not only massive destruction, but also opening up new vistas. |
